Hurricanes are created When warm moist air over the water rises, it is replaced by cooler air. The cooler air will then warm and start to rise. This cycle causes huge storm clouds to form. They are very deadly and can cause billions of dollars of damage.
Hurricanes are scaled on 1-5 with 2 other categories called tropical depression and tropical storm. Tropical depression is when the hurricane is less then 39 MPH. A tropical storm is when the hurricane is between 39 and 73 MPH. A category 1 hurricane is when its between 74 and 95 MPH. A category 2 hurricane is when its between 96 and 110MPH. A category 3 hurricane is when its between 111and 130 MPH. A category 4 hurricane is when its between 131 and 155 MPH. A category 5 hurricane is when its 156+ MPH.
